You, me, and everyone we know is super duper excited for Spike Jonze's feature film rendition of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are. The man is a genius, he is definitely in my list of people I wish I was mates with. I've been following his blog We Love You So with great admiration, and have come across many gems but none so far have topped the news that the WTWTA soundtrack is now out! Featuring a huge ensemble of great talent including Karen O, Bradford Cox of Deerhunter, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence (Queens of the Stone Age, The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs), Aaron Hemphill (Liars), Greg Kurstin (The Bird and the Bee), Oscar Michel (Gris Gris), Imaad Wasif (New Folk Implosion, Alaska) and an amazing children's choir. (Phew!)
You can get your first taste of the awesomeness right here. My eyes are welling up already!
